Chat & channels

Zavimo includes a built-in Chat system to streamline real-time collaboration without needing external tools. You can discuss work, share files, and communicate in context—right where the work happens.

Chat overview

Access Chat from the sidebar. It includes:

• Channels - Topic-based conversations (e.g. #general, #design)
• Direct messages (DMs) - One-on-one private chats
• Team chats - Automatically created when a team is created; visible only to team members

Channels

• Channels can have any name—not limited to hashtags or lowercase
• Public by default; can be restricted to specific members
• Use the Share button (top-right in channel) to:
  • Add members
  • Change privacy settings

Files in chat

Every chat (channel, DM, or team) supports file sharing:

• Click the Files button inside a chat to view shared files
• Files are searchable and persist within the conversation

Notifications

Messages in chats and channels trigger notifications:

• Mentions (@yourname)
• Replies in threads
• Messages in DMs

These notifications also appear in your Inbox and can be managed from notification settings.
